73's Facing A Familiar Foe

It's a rematch of last year's Schmalz Cup semi-final for the Essex 73's.

They host Ayr tonight for game one of the best-of-seven.

Essex Head Coach Gil Langlois says it's definitely an advantage having played the Centennials last season.

"They've got some big forwards, they're returning five D back, so they're strong on the defensive side of the puck," the coach explains. "They've got good goaltending, and of course last year when we played them they were very well-coached."

The 73's dispatched Ayr in five games a year ago.

Tonight's puck drop is set for 7pm.
