Maroons End Preseason With Loss To Legionnaires

The Chatham Maroons fell 4-1 to the Sarnia Legionnaires in their final preseason game on Thursday.

After a scoreless first period, Sarnia took a 1-0 lead in the second. The Legionnaires scored again before Chatham made it on the board, bringing the score to 2-1 early in the third. However, Sarnia ensured their win another two unanswered goals before the final buzzer.

Forward Cale Markham scored Chatham's only goal.

The Maroons will kick off the regular season with their first game against the Ancaster Avalanche on September 10 at 4:45pm.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
