Flyers Win, Vipers Lose

The Leamington Flyers picked up their first win of the GOJHL season, while the LaSalle Vipers are still looking.

The Flyers edged the Elmira Sugar Kings 2-1 at the season opening Jr. B tournament in London. Josh Pope-Ferguson and Blake Bain scored for Leamington.

Meanwhile, the Vipers lost 3-2 in overtime to the St. Catherines Falcons.

Brett Primeau could of won it for the Vipers in OT, but missed a penalty shot at 1:10.

Primeau and Nathan Savage both scored and had an assist for LaSalle in the loss.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
