New Signing And Vilardi Progressing

The Windsor Spitfires are making last minute adjustments ahead of Thursday night's home opener against Erie.

The team's signed 19-year-old defenceman Austin McEneny.

As a right-handed puck-moving D-man, GM Warren Rychel says McEneny gives the Spits some depth on the back-end.

The Waterdown, Ontario native played part of last season in the QMJHL with the Quebec Remparts, putting up two goals and nine assists through 48 games.

The club has also received good news about second-year forward Gabe Vilardi, who was injured during Hockey Canada's World Under-18 orientation camp last month.

Athletic Therapist Joey Garland says Vilardi is ready to resume on-ice activity, and should be ready for game action soon.
