Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – September 29, 2016

Kier Cumming led the Blenheim Blades to a 6-3 victory over the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals on Thursday.

Cumming scored a hat-trick for the Blades, while Drew Marlatt, Nick Delyzer and Brayden Hopkins each scored once.  Kasey Basile, Zack Yott and Curtis Prymack scored the three goals for Amherstburg.

The Blades face off against the Mooretown Flags at home on Sunday at 7pm. Also on Sunday at 7pm, the Admirals are back on their home ice to take on the Dresden Kings.

Also in the PJHL, the Dresden Kings fell 7-4 to the Petrolia Flyers.

Derek Shaw led the Kings with two goals, while Dillon Liberty and Macks Holmes each had one.

The Kings will take on Petrolia again on Friday at 7:30pm.

In GOJHL action, the Leamington Flyers blanked the Lambton Shores Predators 5-0.

Brett Vorshuk, Zach Guilbeault, Cale Phibbs, Dallas Maurovic and Liam Hogan all scored one goal for Leamington.

The Flyers will take on the Lincolns in St. Marys on Friday at 7:30pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
