Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – October 6, 2016

In the PJHL, the Blenheim Blades scored their third win in a row, with a 5-3 victory over the Petrolia Flyers on Thursday.

The Blades took a 2-0 lead in the first period, and kept a 3-1 advantage in the second. Both teams scored twice in the final frame, but Blemheim kept in front for the win.

Nick Delyzer led Bleheim with two goals, while Brayden Hopkins, Bryce Broad and Dustin Maines each scored one.

The Blades are back on the ice on Tuesday as they travel to Essex to battle the 73's at 7pm.

And in the GOJHL, the Leamington Flyers edged the St. Thomas Stars 4-3 for their third straight win.

The Stars and the Flyers tied things up at 2-2 at the end of the first period. After no scoring in the second, the Flyers gained a 4-3 advantage half way through the third.

Jaydon Fetter was Leamington`s lead scorer with two goals, while Broden Meloche and Liam Hogan each had one.

The Flyers will take on the Strathroy Rockets at the West Middlesex Memorial Arena on Saturday at 7:30pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
