Toronto was eliminated in the ALCS by the Indians in five games after falling 3-0 to Cleveland.

Meanwhile -- Addison Russell and Anthony Rizzo both hit home runs as the Chicago Cubs blew by the LA Dodgers 10-2 to even the NLCS up at 2-games-a-piece.

Round one of the Patrick Laine / Auston Matthews rivalry is going to the Finnish Jets rookie.

Laine, who was selected second overall in the 2016 NHL entry draft, had a hat trick, including the overtime winner, as the Winnipeg Jets rallied to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4.

Elsewhere -- Jimmy Howard turned back 32 shots as the Detroit Red Wings rallied for a 2-1 win over the Rangers.

In NBA preseason play -- the Toronto Raptors continued their exhibition schedule with a 103-92 victory over the Detroit Pistons. Toronto guard Kyle Lowry had 27 points and DeMar DeRozan added 26.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
