Spitfires Blank Frontenacs 2-0

The Windsor Spitfires were able to bounce back from a 4-0 loss against London with 2-0 shutout victory over the Kingston Frontenacs on Thursday.

Cole Purboo scored first for Windsor 7:32 into the first period. Sean Day, who was recently traded to Windsor by the Mississauga Steelheads, scored his first goal as a Spitfire with just under ten minutes left in the first. Neither team scored in the final two frames, but Windsor was able to out shoot Kingston 31-25.

Spitfires goaltender Michael DiPietro held off Kingston, making 25 saves.

The Spitfires will head to Flint on Saturday to take on the Firebirds ar 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
