Chatham-Kent's Travis Konecny has scored his first goal in the NHL.

Elsewhere -- Steven Stamkos scored twice and added two helpers as Tampa Bay topped the Toronto Maple Leafs 7-3.

The Detroit Red Wings doubled up Carolina 4-2 -- the Ottawa Senators defeated the Canucks 3-0 in Vancouver -- the Calgary Flames beat St. Louis 4-1 -- the Winnipeg Jets lost to Dallas 3-2 -- and Sidney Crosby scored in his first game of the season as Pittsburgh beat Florida 3-2.

---

In the World Series -- Corey Kluber came up big on the mound, and his teammates backed him up at the plate. The Indians ace pitched six innings of shutout ball and Roberto Perez hit two home runs as Cleveland downed the Chicago Cubs 6-0 in Game 1.
