Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – October 28, 2016

In PJHL action on Friday, the Lakeshore Canadiens rolled over the Wallaceburg Lakers 11-4.

Steven Sartor led Lakeshore with a hat trick, while Mejoe Gasparovic and Jarrett Tazzman both scored twice.  Joe Binder, JJ Percy, Michael Long amd Colin Sartor scored one each as well.

Brayden Kettlewell, Josh Oberg, Justin Lindsay and Nick Tetreault scored the four goals for Wallaceburg.

As well, the Dresden Kings recorded their third straight loss after falling 5-4 to the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals.

Travis Campbell led the Admirals with two goals, while Ryan Alexander, Mark MacPherson and Ryan Holzel all scored once.

Kevin Ritzer was top scorer for Dresden with two goals. Derek Shaw and Dillon Liberty both had one.

The Canadiens will head to Dresden on Sunday to take on the Kings at 3:30pm. Also on Sunday, the Lakers will face off against the Admirals in Amherstburg at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
