Sports Briefs - November 21, 2016

The Detroit Lions had yet another successful 4th quarter rally as they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 26-19.

The Lions improve to 6-and-4 on the season with the win.

Meanwhile -- the Buffalo Bills beat the Cincinnati Bengals 16-12 and the Cowboys downed Baltimore 27-17 for their ninth straight win.

The Washington Redskins beat up the Green Bay Packers in the late game -- the final score was 42-24.

In the CFL playoffs -- Ottawa held on for a wild 35-23 win over Edmonton on a snow-covered field to advance to the Grey Cup -- the Redblacks will face Calgary after the Stampeders beat B-C 42-15.

In the NHL -- the Calgary Flames beat the slumping Red Wings 3-2. Detroit has lost four straight.

In the NBA -- Terrence Ross hit a buzzer beater, but it was overturned because officials ruled the play clock started late as the Toronto Raptors fell to Sacramento 102-99.

Jimmie Johnson won his seventh NASCAR championship, tying him with Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty for the most all-time.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
