Sports Briefs - December 19, 2016

In the NFL -- the Detroit Lions' five game win streak came crashing to a halt as they lost to the New York Giants 17-6.

The Lions still lead the NFC North with a 9-5 record, but the Green Bay Packers also won yesterday, so they're right behind the Lions at 8-6.

Meantime -- the Dallas Cowboys beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Sunday night game.

In the NHL -- The Ottawa Senators won their second in a row by beating the New York Islanders 6-2.

Elsewhere -- the Vancouver Canucks lost to Columbus 4-3 while the Winnipeg Jets beat Colorado 4-1.

AND

In the NBA -- DeMar DeRozan poured in 31 points as the Toronto Raptors beat the Orlando Magic 109-79.
