Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – January 25, 2017

The LaSalle Vipers are now riding a five-game win streak after beating the Sarnia Legionnaires 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday.

Brett Primeau scored the game winner in OT, while Jasper Forgrave, Liam MacDougall and Daniel Beaudoin added one goal each during regular play.

The Vipers will battle the Lincolns next in St. Marys on Friday at 7:30pm.

And in Junior C hockey action, the Wallaceburg Lakers lost their fourth straight game following a 7-2 defeat at the hands of the Wheatley Sharks.

Cole Butler and Jake Pickersgill led Wheatley with two goals each, while Jack Leafeve, Alixe Saliba and Justin Pinsonneault all scored once.

Ryan MacAlpine and Conner Lovell scored the two goals for Wallaceburg.

The Lakers are back on the ice on Friday when they head to Dresden to take on the Kings at 7:30pm.And then on January 31, the Sharks are in Essex to battle the 73's at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
