Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – February 1, 2017

The LaSalle Vipers edged the Strathroy Rockets 3-2 in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

Cale Allen scored twice for LaSalle and Chris Playfair had one goal.

The Vipers are back on the ice on Saturday when they head to Lambton Shores to take on the Predators at 7:30pm.-

As well, the London Nationals scored a 2-1 victory over the Sarnia Legionnaires.

Brenden Trottier and Max Vinogradov scored the two goals for London.

The Nationals are on home ice on February 8 when they face the Leamington Flyers at 7:30pm.

And in the PJHL, the Amherstburg Admirals beat the Wheatley Sharks 6-2 in Game 1 of their playoff series.

Kasey Basile led Amherstburg with two goals, while Mark Gangnon, Ryan Wismer, Luke Gangnon and Dylan Muzzatti all scored once.

Ryan Zsebok and Cam Pickersgill scored the two goals for Wheatley.

Game 2 of the playoff series is on Monday in Wheatley. The puck drops at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
