Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – February 2, 2017

The Leamington Flyers doubled the St. Marys Lincolns 6-3 in GOJHL action on Thursday.

Parker Jacques, Brett Vorshuk, Dallas Maurovic, Josh Pope-Ferguson, Scott Florence and Nicolas Mainella scored the six goals for Leamington.

The Flyers are in St. Thomas next to battle the Stars on Friday at 7:30pm

In the PJHL, the Dresden Kings shutout the Blenheim Blades 3-0 in Game 1 of their playoff series.

Eric Carter, Brendan Ritchie and Macks Holmes each scored once for Dresden.

The two teams will face off again for Game 2 on Monday. The puck drops in Dresden at 7:30pm.

And the Lakeshore Canadiens edged the Petrolia Flyers 7-6 in overtime in Game 1 of their best-of-seven series.

JJ Percy led Lakeshore in scoring with two goals, while Jake Nimmo, Nick Tavolieri-Essex, Steven Sartor and Connor Rosaasen each scored once. Mejoe Gasparovic scored the game winner in OT.

The two teams are at the Atlas Centre on Friday for Game 2. The puck drops at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
