Jr. Hockey Wrap Up – February 8, 2017

The St. Thomas Stars shutout the LaSalle Vipers 4-0 in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

Ryan Brown led St. Thomas with two goals, while Christian Clark and Alex Turko each had one.

The Vipers are in Strathroy on Saturday to take on the Rockets. The puck drops at 7:30pm.

As well, the Leamington Flyers fell 3-1 to the London Nationals.

Isaiah Payne, Kyle Dawson and Brenden Trottier all scored once for London.

Blake Bain scored Leamington's only goal of the game.

The Flyers are at home on Thursday to battle the Sarnia Legionnaires at 7:10pm. And then on February 15, the Nationals are on home ice to take on the LaSalle Vipers at 7:30pm.

And in the PJHL,  the Amherstburg Admirals now have a 3-0 playoff series lead after beating the Wheatley Sharks 4-1.

Mark Gangnon, Luke Gangnon, Zack Yott and Jordan Luciw scored one goal each for London.

Delaney MacDonald scored the single goal for Wheatley.

The Sharks will fight to stay alive in Game 4 on Thursday. The puck drops at 7pm in Amherstburg.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
