Windsor TFC Names Coach

Windsor's pro-am soccer team has named its new head coach.

Windsor TFC announced Saturday that Zibby Piatkiewicz has been named the team's bench boss, effective immediately.  Piatkiewicz had previously been an assistant coach for the University of Windsor Lancers under Steve Hart.

"Zibby's commitment and qualifications are a tremendous fit for our program,” said team president Vancho Cirovski in a statement. “We look forward to a long term relationship and success with his guidance."

Piatkiewicz is a Windsor native and has been involved with the Polonia Silver Eagles club as well as the Lancers.  He has also been a youth coach with the LaSalle Soccer Club.

The team is preparing for the start of its League 1 Ontario season.  The opener is Friday, April 28 at UW's Alumni Field.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
