Yellow Jackets Win AA Jr Baseball Championships

The Essex Yellow Jackets Jr Team took home the title from the AA Junior Baseball Ontario Championships in Chatham over the weekend.

Essex went a perfect 5-0 in the tournament, with Marcus MacEachran being named the Tournament MVP.

Andy Fantuz In Chatham Tonight

CFL All-Star wide receiver Andy Fantuz will be in Chatham Tuesday night, hosting the Andy Fantuz Cougar Football Clinic at Chatham-Kent Secondary School.

The camp takes place from 6pm to 8pm.

Fantuz will be joined by QB specialist coach Dave Hockin from London and Chatham-Kent Cougar Football players and coaches.

Blades See Solid Turnout For Training Camp

The Blenheim Blades kicked off their tryouts and training camp Monday night at the Blenheim arena with 39 players hitting the ice.

The team's next tryouts are Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30pm to 9pm, and again next week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
