Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – September 27, 2017

The LaSalle Vipers doubled the Sarnia Legionnaires 6-3 in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

Manny Silverio, Tyler Russell, Evan Ferguson, Aaron Shaw, Jack Bowler and Brett Vorshuk all scored once for LaSalle.

The Vipers head to Komoka on Saturday to battle the Kings at 7:15pm.

And in Junior C hockey, the Canadiens topped the Wallaceburg Lakers 5-2 in Lakeshore's fourth straight win.

Connor Rosaasen led Lakeshore with two goals, while Kyler Carter, Hunter Bailey and Kyle Brothers each scored one.

Matthew Brevetti and Elijah Contreras scored the two goals for Wallaceburg.

The Lakers return to the ice on Thursday to take on the Flyers in Petrolia at 7:30pm. And on Friday, the Canadiens are on home ice to face off against the Mooretown Flags at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
