Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – October 5, 2017

The Leamington Flyers beat the St. Thomas Stars 7-3 in GOJHL action on Thursday.

Griffin Robinson led Leamington with two goals, while Rory DiNiro, Cody Schneider, Preston Corp, Josh Pope-Ferguson and Jake Nimmo all scored once.

The Flyers will take on the Rockets in Strathroy on Saturday at 7:30pm.

And in Junior C hockey, the Essex 73's edged the Petrolia Flyers 3-2 in overtime.

Anthony Cristofaro scored twice for the 73's, including the game winner in OT. William Stadder scored the other goal for Essex in regular play.

The 73's return home on Tuesday to take on the Wallaceburg Lakers at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
