Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – October 18, 2017

The LaSalle Vipers shutout the Strathroy Rockets 2-0 in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

Stefan Dobrich and Broden Meloche scored the two goals for LaSalle.

The Vipers return to the ice on Saturday to take on the London Nationals. The puck drops at 7:30pm in London.

The London Nationals snapped a six-game win streak for the Leamington Flyers, following a 5-3 victory.

Josh Coyle, Matt Granger, James Turner, Brenden Trottier and Mitchell Webb all scored once for London.

Nathan Skulley, Dylan Weston and Blake Bain each scored a goal for Leamington.

The Flyers return home on Thursday to take on the Chatham Maroons at 7:10pm. And then on Friday, the Nationals are in St. Thomas to face off against the Stars at 7:30pm.

And in Junior C hockey, the Petrolia Flyers doubled the Lakers 8-4 in Wallaceburg's seventh straight loss.

Tyler McLean, Josh Oberg, Stone Jacobs and Evan Brown put Wallaceburg on the board with a goal each.

The Lakers head to Blenheim on Sunday to battle the Blades at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
