Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – October 27, 2017

The Wallaceburg Lakers' string of losses continued on Friday in a 5-0 loss to the Lakeshore Canadiens.

Kyler Carter was top scorer for Lakeshore with a hat-trick, while Dylan Bradley and Ameen Fadel both scored once.

The Lakers return to home ice on Wednesday to take on the Wheatley Sharks at 7:30pm.  And then on November 3, the Canadiens will battle the Amherstburg Admirals at the Atlas Centre at 7pm.

As well, the Dresden Kings edged the Essex 73's 2-1.

Nolan VandenBoorn and Will Tetzlaff scored the two goals for Dresden.

Quinn Fazekas scored once for Essex.

The 73's will head to Blenheim on Sunday to take on the Blades at 7pm. And then on Tuesday, the Kings will face off against 73's again in Essex at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
