Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – November 1, 2017

The LaSalle Vipers beat the St. Thomas Stars 6-2 in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

Jack Bowler led the Vipers with two goals while Eric Kirby, Tyler Russell, Broden Meloche and Evan Ferguson all scored once.

The Vipers head to Leamington on Thursday to take on the Flyers at 7:10pm.

Also, the London Nationals shutout the Komoka Kings 3-0.

Kyle Dawson scored twice for London and Brenden Trottier had one goal.

The Nationals are in Sarnia on Thursday to face off against the Legionnaires at 7:10pm.

The Wallaceburg Lakers still can't seem to earn a win, after falling 6-4 to the Wheatley Sharks.

Delaney MacDonald was the top scorer for Wheatley with a hat-trick, while Steve MacDonald scored twice. Cole Butler also added one goal to the victory.

Cody Nicolaisen, Stone Jacobs, KJ Fontenot and Jake Vancoillie all scored once for Wallaceburg.

The Sharks will battle the Kings next in Dresden on Friday at 7:30pm. And on November 7, the Lakers hit the ice in Essex to take on the 73's at 7pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
