Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – November 3, 2017

The Lakeshore Canadiens edged the Amherstburg Admirals 2-1 in Junior C hockey action on Friday.

Ameen Fadel and Steven Sartor both scored one goal for Lakeshore.

Travis Campbell score once for Amherstburg.

The Canadiens are on home ice on Sunday to battle the Dresden Kings at 7pm. And then on November 10, the Admirals head to Dresden to take on the Kings at 7:30pm.

As well, the Wheatley Sharks fell 3-2 to the Dresden Kings.

Derek Shaw, Will Tetzlaff and Kevin Ritzer each had one goal for Dresden.

Delaney MacDonald and Mitch Lantin scored the two goals fro Wheatley.

The Kings will take on the Lakeshore Canadiens on Sunday at 7pm at the Atlas Tube Centre. And then on Monday, the Sharks return home to face off against the Mooretown Flags at 7pm.

And in the GOJHL, the Leamington Flyers dropped a 7-6 decision to the St. Thomas Stars.

Jaydon Fetter led Leamington with two goals, while Cody Schneider, Rory DiNiro, Kade McKibbin and Griffin Robinson all scored once.

The Flyers will take on the Sarnia Legionnaires on Sunday. The puck drops at 4:10pm in Leamington.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
