Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – November 24, 2017

The London Nationals continued a five-game winning streak with a 3-2 victory over the St. Marys Lincolns on Friday.

Kyle Dawson, James Turner and Carson Brookshaw all scored once for London.

The Nationals are in LaSalle on Sunday to take on the Vipers at 2:30pm.

Also in the GOJHL, the Leamington Flyers edged the St. Thomas Stars 3-2.

Josh Pope-Ferguson, Kenny Styles and Blake Bain scored the three goals for Leamington.

The Flyers return home on November 30 to face off against the Stars once again. The puck drops at 7:10pm.

And in Junior C hockey, the Dresden Kings fell 4-3 to the Lakeshore Canadiens.

Connor Rosaasen, Kyler Carter, Steven Sartor and Colin Sartor each scored a goal for Lakeshore.

Brendan Ritchie, Nolan VandenBoorn and Kevin Ritzer score once goal each for Dresden.

The Canadiens will face off against the Flyers in Petrolia on November 30 at 7:30pm. And then on December 1 in Dresden, the Kings will again battle the Canadiens at 7:30pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
