Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – November 29, 2017

The LaSalle Vipers edged the Komoka Kings 5-4 in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

Frank Zak, Manny Silverio, Gianluca Pizzuto, Bradley Vincent and Matthew Maggio all scored once for LaSalle.

The Vipers will travel to St. Marys on Friday to take on the Lincolns at 7:30pm.

As well, the London Nationals topped the Sarnia Legionnaires 5-3.

Jack Webb led London with two goals, while Carson Brookshaw, Max Vinogradov and James Turner each scored one.

The Nationals head to Komoka on Saturday to battle the Kings at 7:15pm.

And in Junior C hockey, Wyatt ONeil led the Essex 73's to a 7-3 victory over the Wallaceburg Lakers.

ONeil was the top scorer for Essex with a hat-trick, while William Stadder, Justin Bondy, Dallas Anderson and Brett Smith scored the other four goals.

Drew Fisher, Bailey Smith and Austin Bentley each scored a goal for Wallaceburg.

The 73's return home on Tuesday to face off against the Petrolia Flyers at 7pm.  And then on December 6, the Lakers are in Wallaceburg to play the Dresden Kings at 7:30pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
