Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up — January 10, 2018

The LaSalle Vipers doubled the Strathroy Rockets 4-2 on Wednesday for their fourth straight victory.

Eric Kirby led LaSalle with two goals, while Brett Vorshuk and Aaron Shaw both scored once.

The Vipers will head to Sarnia on Thursday to take on the Legionnaires at 7:10pm.

The Lakeshore Canadiens hammered the Wallaceburg Lakers 6-1.

Connor Rosaasen was the top scorer for Lakeshore with a hat-trick, while Brandon Ireland, Luke Mahon and Colin Sartor all scored once.

Austin Bentley scored the one goal for Wallaceburg.

The Canadiens return home on Friday to take on the Blenheim Blades at 7pm. And then on January 17, the Lakers are on home ice to battle the Amherstburg Admirals at 7:30pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
