Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up — January 24, 2018

The LaSalle Vipers topped the Sarnia Legionnaires 5-2 in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

Hayden Johnston led LaSalle with two goals, while Aidan Ryan, Max Sieberer and Brett Vorshuk all scored once.

The Vipers are in Komoka on Saturday to face off against the Kings at 7:15pm.

And in Junior C hockey, the Mooretown Flags shutout the Wallaceburg Lakers 6-0.

The Flags also outshot Wallaceburg 30-26.

The Lakers will travel to Petrolia on Thursday to take on the Flyers at 7:30pm.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
