Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up — January 31, 2018

The LaSalle Vipers earned their fourth straight win after defeating the Strathroy Rockets 7-1 on Wednesday.

Frank Zak, Kory Silverio, Brett Vorshuk, Brendan Soto, Aaron Shaw, Tyler Russell and Hayden Johnston all scored once for LaSalle.

The Vipers will face off against the Rockets again on Saturday. The puck drops at 7:30pm in Strathroy.

As well, the London Nationals fell 4-1 to the Sarnia Legionnaires.

Brenden Trottier scored London's only goal.

The Nationals are in St. Thomas on Friday to battle the Stars at 7:30pm.

And the Wallaceburg Lakers wrapped up the season with a 6-0 shutout loss to the Essex 73's.

William Stadder led the 73's with two goals, while Michael Ruttinger, Tyler Boughner, Michael Vieira and Dawson Winchester each added a goal.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
