Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up — February 6, 2018

The Essex 73's opened up their playoff series against Petrolia on Tuesday with a 4-2 victory over the Flyers.

William Stadder led Essex with two goals, while Michael Vieira and Luke Gecse both scored once.

The two teams face off in Petrolia for Game 2 on Thursday at 7:30 pm.

As well, the Lakeshore Canadiens edged the Blenheim Blades 4-3  in OT in Game 1 of their quarterfinal playoff series.

Connor Rosaasen was the top scorer for Lakeshore with two goals, while Liam Hogan and Ameen Fadel each added one.

Nick Delyzer, Josh Oberg and Drew Marlatt scored the three goals for Blenheim.

The two teams face off in Blenheim for Game 2 on Thursday at 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
