Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up — February 7, 2018

The Leamington Flyers doubled the London Nationals 4-2 on Wednesday.

Dylan Weston, Jaydon Fetter, Blake Bain and Dalton Langlois each scored once for Leamington.

Kyle Dawson and Jack Webb scored the two goals for London.

The Flyers return home on Thursday to take on the Sarnia Legionnaires at 7:10pm. And then on February 13, the Nationals face off against the Legionnaires in Sarnia at 7:10pm.

Also in GOJHL action, the LaSalle Vipers fell 4-2 to the St. Thomas Stars.

Gianluca Pizzuto and Brett Vorshuk both scored one goal for LaSalle.

The Vipers head to London on February 14 to face off against the Nationals at 7:30pm.

And in Junior C hockey, the Amherstburg Admirals topped the Mooretown Flags 4-2 in Game 1 of their quarter-final playoff series.

Ryan Alexander led Amherstburg with two goals, while Keegan MacVoy and both scored once.

The two teams face off again for Game 2 on Saturday at 7pm in Mooretown.

Also in the Junior C playoffs, the Dresden Kings shutout the Wheatly Sharks 4-0 in Game 2.

Geoffry VandenBoorn scored twice for Dresden. Kenny Chisolm and Derek Shaw scored a goal each.

Dresden leads the series 2-0.

The Sharks will look to bounce back in Game 3 on Friday. The puck drops at 7:30pm in Dresden.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
