Jr. Hockey Wrap-Up – February 27, 2018

The Essex 73's eliminated the Dresden Kings from the playoffs following a 5-1 victory in Game 6 on Tuesday.

Adam Gaiarin led Essex with two goals, while Anthony Cristofaro, Sylvano Valente and Dawson Winchester each scored once.

Aidan Lachine scored Dresden's only goal of the game.

Essex won the best of seven series 4-2.

The 73's will take on the Mooretown Flags or the Lakeshore Canadiens in the West Conference Semifinals.

The Lakeshore Canadiens topped the Mooretown Flags 5-1 to take a 3-0 series lead in the playoff quarterfinals.

Jarrett Tazzman was the top scorer for Lakeshore with two goals, while Steven Sartor, Dylan Bradley and Mejoe Gasparovic all added one.

The Canadiens will look to sweep the Flags in Game 4 on Wednesday. The puck drops at 8pm in Mooretown.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
