Spitfires Reveal Exhibition Schedule

The Windsor Spitfires now know which teams they will play in preparation for the 2018-19 OHL season.

The Ontario Hockey League unveiled the 2018 exhibition schedule Friday, and the Spitfires have been invited to play some of those games in Buffalo, NY.

OHL rules allow all clubs to schedule between two and five exhibition games, with the potential for more before the regular season starts.

The Spits will join the Erie Otters, Flint Firebirds and the OHL champion Hamilton Bulldogs for the second annual HarborCenter OHL Showcase, a chance for OHL players and prospects to show off their on-ice skills.

Windsor's exhibition season begins Friday, August 31 in Buffalo when the Spitfires take on the Otters, who will host the showcase.

The Spitfires then face Hamilton in a matinee on Saturday, September 1 before closing out the showcase the following afternoon against Flint.

Windsor then has a pre-season home-and-away series against the Sarnia Sting. The Sting visit the WFCU Centre on Thursday, September 13, and the Spitfires head to Sarnia the following night.

The Spitfires will learn their regular season schedule when it comes out on Tuesday.

The complete OHL preseason schedule is available on the Spitfires' official website.
