Jr. hockey wrap-up – September 21, 2018

The London Nationals won their third straight game with a 5-1 victory over the St. Mary's Lincolns on Friday.

James Turner scored twice for London, while Brady Elder, Dillon Ward and Cal Davis each scored once.

The Nationals will head to Chatham on Sunday to take on the Maroons at 7 p.m.

And in Junior C hockey, the Lakeshore Canadiens fell 4-1 to the Dresden Kings.

Nolen Vandanborn scored two goals for Dresden, while Brantley Kuipers and Eric Carter added a goal each.

Blake Bain scored the single goal for Lakeshore.

The Kings will travel to Amherstburg on Sunday to take on the Admirals at 7 p.m. And then on Thursday, the Canadiens return home to play the Mooretown Flags at 7 p.m.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
