Jr. hockey wrap-up – September 26, 2018

The London Nationals continued a seven-game win streak with a 7-2 victory over the Sarnia Legionnaires on Wednesday.

Riley MacRae led London with a hat-trick, while James Turner, Christian Polillo, Cal Davis and Austin Jeffers all scored once.

The Nationals will head to Strathroy on Saturday to battle the Rockets at 7:30 p.m.

Also, the LaSalle Vipers fell 4-2 to the St. Thomas Stars.

Brett Vorshuk and Danny Skinner scored the two goals for LaSalle.

The Vipers are in Leamington on Thursday to face off against the Flyers at 7:10 p.m.

And in Junior C hockey, the Wallaceburg Lakers dropped a 6-0 decision to the Wheatley Sharks in their fourth straight loss of this season.

Mitch Krieger, Carter Comeau, Cole Butler, Alixe Saliba, Jace Leach and Ernie Godden all scored once for Wheatley.

The Lakers travel to Amherstburg on Sunday to play the Admirals at 7 p.m. And then on October 3, the Sharks are on home ice to take on the Dresden Kings at 7:30 p.m.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
