Jr. hockey wrap-up – September 28, 2018

The Leamington Flyers fell 4-2 to the St. Marys Lincolns on Friday.

Johnny Ulicny and Levi Tetrault scored the two goals for Leamington.

The Flyers return home on Thursday to battle the St. Thomas Stars at 7:10 p.m.

And in Junior C hockey, the Lakeshore Canadiens edged the Blenheim Blades 2-1.

Jarrett Tazzman and Steven Sartor both scored once for Lakeshore.

Cameron Symons score the single goal for Blenheim.

The Blades and the Canadiens will face off again in Blenheim on Sunday at 7 p.m.

And the Dresden Kings beat the Essex 73's 5-2.

Nolen Vandenboorn led Dresden with two goals, while Nolan Ross, TJ Saunby and Elijah Duquette each scored once.

Michael Vieira and Josh Pope-Ferguson scored the two goals for Essex.

The Kings are in Mooretown on Saturday to take on the Flags at 7:30 p.m. And then on Tuesday, the 73's are on home ice to take on the Wallaceburg Lakers at 7 p.m.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
