Jr. hockey wrap-up – October 12, 2018

The Dresden Kings earned their fourth straight win with a 4-3 overtime victory over the Essex 73's on Friday.

Nolen Vandenboorn scored the game-winner for Dresden in OT, while Kyle Hachey, Brendan Ritchie and Eric Carter each scored once.

William Stadder, Bryce Ryan and Josh Pope-Ferguson scored the three goals for Essex.

The Kings head to Blenheim on Sunday to take on the Blades at 7 p.m. The 73's return home on Tuesday to face off against the Wheatley Sharks at 7 p.m.

Also in Junior B hockey, the Lakeshore Canadiens edged the Petrolia Flyers 2-1 in overtime.

Matt Smith scored the game-winner for Lakeshore in OT and Everett Parent scored once during regular play.

The Canadians are on home ice again on October 19 to battle the Amherstburg Admirals at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
