Jr. hockey wrap-up – October 31, 2018

The London Nationals shutout the LaSalle Vipers 5-0 in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

Christian Polillo and Riley MacRae both scored twice for London, while James Turner scored once.

The Nationals will be in St. Marys on Friday to take on the Lincolns at 7:30 p.m. Also on Friday, the Vipers face off against the Stars in St. Thomas at 7:30 p.m.

And in Junior C hockey, the Wallaceburg Lakers continued a long-running losing streak on Wednesday after falling 2-1 to the Wheatley Sharks.

Jordan Paquette and Carter Comeau both scored once for Wheatley.

Josh Remsik scored the single goal for Wallaceburg.

The Sharks return to the ice on Friday to take on the Canadiens in Lakeshore at 7 p.m. And then on November 7, the Lakers are on home ice again for a rematch against the Sharks at 7:30 p.m.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
