Jr. hockey wrap-up – November 21, 2018

The Leamington Flyers earned their sixth straight win with a 4-3 victory over the LaSalle Vipers on Wednesday.

Dylan Weston, Michael Andrews, Adam Groat and Kade McKibbin all scored once for Leamington.

Abdul Abouzeeni led LaSalle with two goals and Cody Schneider scored once.

The Vipers are in St. Marys on Friday to battle the Lincolns at 7:30 p.m. And on November 29, the Flyers return home to face off against the Komoka Kings at 7:10 p.m.

As well, the Strathroy Rockets edged the London Nationals 3-2.

Max Vinogradov and Zach Sheedy scored the two goals for London.

The Nationals head to St. Thomas on Friday to take on the Stars at 7:30 p.m.

And in Junior C hockey, the Essex 73's fell 3-2 to the Wheatley Sharks.

Eric Prudence, Curtis Rodrigues and Jordan Paquette all scored once goal for Wheatley.

Adam Gaiarin and Bryce Ryan each scored once for Essex.

The Sharks will be in Petrolia on Saturday to play the Flyers at 7:30 p.m. And then on November 27, the 73's will look to bounce back at home against the Moortown Flags at 7 p.m.

Also, the Wallaceburg Lakers dropped a 3-1 decision to the Mooretown Flags.

Zander Wright scored the sole goal for Wallaceburg.

The Lakers are on home ice on November 28 to face off against the Essex 73's. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
