High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The Amherstburg Admirals shutout the Dresden Kings 8-0 on Friday.
Cory Burns led Amherstburg with two goals, while Travis Campbell, Broden Meloche, Josh Talerico, Cole Welsh, Christian McBride and Andrew Clark all scored once.

As well, the Lakeshore Canadiens edged the Wheatley Sharks 5-4 in overtime.
Matt Smith scored a hat-trick for Lakeshore with two goals during regular time and the game-winner in OT. Dylan Bradley and Steven Sartor both scored once as well.
Parker Boyle, Dawson Iles, Mitch Lantin and Jordan Paquette scored the four goals for Wheatley.

The Kings are in Lakeshore on Saturday to take on the Canadiens at 6 p.m. And then on Sunday, the Admirals return home to face off against the Wheatley Sharks at 7 p.m.
