Jr. hockey wrap-up – January 2, 2019

The St. Marys Lincolns edged the LaSalle Vipers 4-3 on Wednesday.

Matt Carvalho, Aaron Shaw and Colton Krzeminski all scored once for LaSalle.

The Vipers are on home ice again on January 9 when they take on the Strathroy Rockets at 7 p.m.

The Essex 73's shutout the Wallaceburg Lakers 5-0.

William Stadder, Quinn Fazekas, Josh Pope-Ferguson, Bryce Ryan and Riley Meyerink each scored one goal for Essex.

The Lakers will head to Dresden on Friday to battle the Kings at 7:30 p.m. And on January 8, the 73's are back at home to take on the Wheatley Sharks at 7 p.m.

The Wheatley Sharks fell 5-2 to the Amherstburg Admirals.

Dean Deluca led Amherstburg with two goals, while Travis Campbell, Cory Burns and Max Clifford all scored once.

Matt Taylor and Jordan Paquette scored the two goals for Wheatley.

The Admirals are back on the ice on Friday when they take on the Canadiens in Lakeshore at 7 p.m. And on January 8, the Sharks are in Essex to face off against the 73's at 7 p.m.

The Lakeshore Canadiens hammered the Mooretown Flags 6-1.

Eric Larue, Matt Smith, Lucas Poisson, Jake Nimmo, Steven Sartor and Dylan Bradley all scored a goal for Lakeshore.

The Canadiens are up against the Amherstburg Admirals next on Friday. The puck drops at 7 p.m. in Lakeshore.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
