Jr. hockey wrap-up – January 4, 2019

The Wallaceburg Lakers dropped an 8-2 decision to the Dresden Kings on Friday.

Noah Fox and Greg Hay led Dresden with two goals each, while Nolen Vandenboorn, Eric Carter, Derek Shaw and Lucas Spence all scored once.

Josh Remsik and Zander Wright scored the two goals for Wallaceburg.

The Kings are in Amherstburg on Sunday to face off against the Admirals at 7 p.m. And then on Wednesday, the Lakers return home to battle the Blenheim Blades at 7:30 p.m.

As well, the Lakeshore Canadiens beat the Amherstburg Admirals 5-2.

Nathan Skulley was the top scorer for Lakeshore with to goals, while Andrew Thoms, Jake Nimmo and Dylan Bradley each scored one.

Austin Jennings and Reid Stieler each scored a goal for Amherstburg.

The Admirals will take on the Blenheim Blades in Amherstburg on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.  And then on Sunday, the Canadiens are in Blenheim to tackle the Blades at 7 p.m.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
