Sharks have Admirals walk the plank, 3-1

Braedon Caetano scored twice as the Wheatley Omstead Sharks beat the Amherstburg Integrity Admirals 3-1 Sunday night at the Libro Centre.

The Sharks are in seventh place in the PJHL Stobbs Division standings, with 32 points. The Admirals are in fourth with 49 points.

It was a scoreless tie until there were just over two minutes left in the first period, when Broden Melcohe scored his third goal in the last two games, putting the Admirals up 1-0.

Wheatley tied the game, then took the lead in the second frame. Caetano scored the equalizer for his first goal of the night, then Alixe Saliba followed through with the go-ahead goal for a 2-1 Sharks lead.

Caetano provided insurance in the third period with his second score of the contest.

Catalin Morin stopped all but one of the 39 shots fired at him in goal for the Sharks. Ben Larder took the loss for Amherstburg with 25 saves.

The two teams meet again Wednesday night in Wheatley.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
