Jr. hockey wrap-up – February 6, 2019

The Leamington Flyers doubled the LaSalle Vipers 6-3 on Wednesday to earn their fifth straight win.

Zach Taylor led Leamington with two goals, while Brett Postula, Johnny Ulicny, Josh King and Dylan Weston each scored once.

Evan Ferguson, Kory Silverio and Spencer Paradis scored the three goals for LaSalle.

The Flyers are back on home ice on Thursday to take on the Sarnia Legionnaires at 7:10 p.m. And then on Saturday, the Vipers head to Strathroy to take on the Rockets at 7:30 p.m.

And in Junior C playoff action, the Lakeshore Canadiens edged the Wheatley Sharks 4-3 in Game 2.

Matt Teno, Eric Larue, Brandon Ireland and Matt Smith all scored once for Lakeshore.

Drew Denomey, Braedon Caetano and Parker Boyle scored one goal each for Wheatley.

Lakeshore is leading the best-of-seven series 2-0.

Game 3 is set for Friday at 7 p.m. in Lakeshore.

As well, the Amherstburg Admirals topped the Mooretown Flags 5-3 in Game 1.

Caleb Paquette scored twice for Amherstburg, while Josh Talerico, Dean Deluca and Reid Stieler each scored once.

The Admirals face the Flags again in Game 2 on Saturday. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. in Mooretown.
