Jr. hockey wrap-up – February 7, 2019

The Leamington Flyers have extended their win streak to six games following a 3-0 shutout victory over the Sarnia Legionnaires on Thursday.

Michael Andrews, Adam Jeffery and Wyatt O'Neil all scored once for Leamington.

The Flyers are back on the ice on February 13 when they head to London to battle the Nationals at 7 p.m.

The Blenheim Blades edged the Dresden Kings 3-2 in overtime in Game 2 of their playoff series.

Dede Cato scored the game-winner for Blenheim in OT, while Connor Wright and Steven Funk both scored once during regular play.

Dawson Winchester scored both goals for Dresden.

The best-of-seven series is now tied 1-1.

The two teams face off in Game 3 on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Essex 73's topped the Petrolia Flyers 5-1 in Game 2.

Michael Ruttinger, Matt Zelko, Luke Gecse, Josh Pope-Ferguson and Quinn Fazekas all scored one goal for Essex.

Essex is now leading the best-of-seven series 2-0.

The puck drops for Game 3 on Tuesday at 7 p.m in Essex.

The matchup between the London Knights and Erie Otters is taking place on Saturday at 4 p.m., and is a fundraiser for upgrades to the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre.
