Outlaws and Fillies come together to form CK Crush

The teams for the newly united Chatham-Kent Girls Hockey Association (CKGHA) will be known as the Chatham-Kent Crush.

That name and the new logo were both approved at a membership meeting last night where the Chatham Outlaws and Kent Fillies girls hockey organizations finalized their partnership, which was announced in November last year.

CKGHA officials said the new name and logo were submitted by the Strevel family and were chosen out of a pool of about 20-30 applicants.

The association is set to open up registration and hold tryouts for all divisions in April with Bantam A and Midget AA kicking things off on April 23 at Thames Campus Arena in Chatham.

Rep and house league players are being encouraged to register early.

A new website has also been set up for the CKGHA -- you can find that by clicking here.
