Maroons to open season at September Showcase weekend

The Chatham Maroons will start their season with a tough test, facing two out-of-conference teams.

The Maroons will open play for 2018-2019 with a pair of games at the GOJHL Showcase, which is taking place from September 6-8 in Pelham.

Chatham's first game is against the Niagara Falls Canucks on Saturday, September 7 at 1:30 p.m.

They'll take on the Listowel Cyclones next, at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 8.

Maroons pre-season schedule:

- Aug. 18 @ 4 p.m. -- Maroons vs. Cambridge RedHawks (in Woodstock)

- Aug. 25 @ 2 p.m. -- Maroons vs. LaSalle Vipers (in Chatham)

- Aug. 28 @ 7 p.m. -- Maroons vs. LaSalle Vipers (in LaSalle)

- Aug. 29 @ 7:10 p.m. -- Maroons vs. Leamington Flyers (in Leamington)

- Sept. 1 @ 7 p.m. -- Maroons vs. Leamington Flyers (in Chatham)

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
