CK Cougars keep championship dreams alive

The Chatham-Kent Cougars Pee Wee team has a shot at the championship title.

The Cougars beat the Brampton Bulldogs 69-32 during a playoff game on Sunday. The team will travel to Scarborough for the championship game on July 27 to face the Thunder.

In the meantime, the Varsity team will have another shot at the playoffs Tuesday evening. The team travelled to Kitchener-Waterloo for a playoff game against the Predators on Saturday but the game was suspended by lightning. The game stopped 14-6 for Waterloo in the fourth quarter.

The game has been rescheduled for Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. in Waterloo.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
