Celebrate with the Maroons in October

The Chatham Maroons have planned some special events this month.

On Thursday, October 10 hockey fans can strap on their skates and skate with the team following its game against the London Nationals. Maroons players will also be available for autographs and pictures. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, October 20 Halloween will come early to Memorial Arena. Everyone is invited to wear their Halloween costume and grab some treats.

The Maroons face the Sarnia Legionnaires at 7 p.m.

On Sunday, October 27 the Maroons will "Pink the Rink" in the fight against breast cancer. Game time is 7 p.m.

The players will wear special pink game jerseys against the LaSalle Vipers that night. After the game, the jerseys will be signed and auctioned off. Proceeds will go to the Breast Buddies and the Canadian Cancer Society.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
