St. Clair volleyball teams make provincial quarterfinals

St. Clair College’s men’s and women’s volleyball teams have both made the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Quarterfinals.

The men’s team made it after pulling off a major upset Saturday afternoon against Georgian College. They ended up winning in five sets, handing the Grizzlies just their 2nd loss of the season.

The Saints were led by fourth year middle Zach Walls who had 20 kills, two service aces, and two stuff blocks.

St. Clair is set to face the Conestoga Condors in Kitchener on February 15, 2025. The winner will advance to the OCAA Final Four Championship. Conestoga won both matches against St. Clair during the regular season.

As for the women’s team, they defeated the George Brown Huskies in three sets on Saturday to earn the spot in the quarterfinals.

St. Clair was led offensively by third year middle Geneva Huisman who had 11 kills and two stuff blocks. 

They’re set to host the La Cite Coyotes on Feb. 15, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Sportsplex. The winner will advance to the OCAA Final Four.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
